My Review
When i finished the first book it took me into the space, different planets, adventure, royalty between family and the love one. The second book took me to another level. A plot twist, an ugly truth to discover, the sacrifice that has to be made in order to reach the goal, and politics. There are some things that i like and i don't like with this book in comparison with the first book that i used to hesitate a lot to start but took me by surprise when i read it and enjoy it a lot.
What's Added
In this second book we got another POV in the book which is Eijeh's POV that revealing that Ryzek's part is still inside of Eijeh, turns out he took quite a role for the ending scene of the book which i find it really necessary. He's featuring the prologue and epilogue of the book which i find it good for the ending too.
But i don't think Cisi's POV really matter, it does give you the vibe of how the currentgift actually works, that we actually can control the currentgift with a bit of practice, as how it turns out to Cyra and Akos at the end. She also had the role of the side story about Isae as the Chancellor of Thuvhe and her alliance with The Assembly, and also the side story of the plot Assembly made to made a rule for the Oracle. Trying to have that power of knowing the fate favored people and what their fate is. Which is in other hand, simple saying that they want to control the "religion" of the people who believes to Oracle by taking part in that knowledge.
“This message is for Cyra Noavek, Isae Benesit is considering aggressive action. Othyr intends to make a play against the oracles, and they have requested Thuvhe’s support in exchange for weapons. She’s—she’s grieving. She’s desperate. We all are. And at the heart of her, I don’t think she’ll ever believe the word of a Shotet. You can’t fail, Kill Lazmet Noavek. Don’t fail. Transmission complete.”

I do like this part of her POV but it's a shame that this message failed to be sent to Cyra, which is a bummer, although it helps her to fulfill her fate that will succumb to knife, which she did and thankfully she didn't die.
What should have added
I think the most important to add here and the most of it, is the map. I mean not only the map of the galaxy, but what's inside the planet. The Thuvhe planet (or Urek in Shotet language). I found it hard to understand or recognize are they really talking about name of planet, or place in the planet at first, or even just a name of a person. We got Shissa and Hassa as part of Thuvhesit (Thuvhe people), we also got Voa as part of Shotet nations, also some other places in other planet that i think would be better displayed in the map.
In Conclusion
I find the ending is counted as a happy ending, but not so much. I mean, in conclusion, Akos succeed in killing Lamzek, Cyra succeed in preventing the second attack launched by Isae in Voa. Akos back again with Cyra, but some questions are unanswered. Shotet people stop living in Thuvhe (or Urek in their language, gosh i should stop explaining this two language thingy, it's tiring) and move to Ogra where the Organs (Orga people) agreed to give Shotet people space to live and even lend them the ship so they still can go Sojourn like they use to do.
But of course we still have the unfinished one, about the Othyr planet that's so futuristic, helping the Assembly, the ongoing debate about how Oracle should operate (the political issues) are still indecisive. What happened to Isae after that failed attempt of attack in Voa, is she still have the urge to attack Shotet people tho they're no longer living in the same planet.
I did reread the epilogue and find some questions answered but not all, specially about the Assembly one. Eijeh who's gone missing after what happened in Voa, back again to Orga to study in the temple, Akos and Cyra living together, but i don't think they have children because of Cyra's currentgift (which is, if it's true, what a bummer)
“My currentgift, is an instrument of torture. You think I would risk inflicting that torture on something growing inside me? Even if it’s a very limited risk? No.”
― Cyra ―
My Verdict
I think it's better as a duology, although i think this second book is not as good as the first book, it definitely need more than one book for the event that happening, but i need more blast in this book to really find the reading vibe into it, it's good that it ends in this second book but i think it should be better. I gave this book a So-so (read my rating system here if you don't get what it means) in content wise, but yes it should stop in the second book only.
