"But life is full of hurt. And your capacity for baring it is much greater than you believe."

Hello peeps! Welcome back to another book review! This one, to be a bit of context here, this book is the oldest book in my shelf. I bought it since 2017 and finally decide to read it after a lot of postpones to read it. To not giving up any more spoilers for the result of it, let's just dive into it!
Synopsis
In the galaxy powered by the current, everyone has a gift.
The story first start in the frozen planet Thuvhe. Akos, a youngest son of An Oracle witnessed his father died in front of him, and abducted along with his brother by the enemy who also living in same planet, Shotet people. His mom is an Oracle that honored a lot by the people in Thuvhe, was nowhere to be found when that happened. Akos trying all that he can to go back to Thuvhe with his brother who turns out fated as an oracle which he and Akos didn't know about it because Thuvhe people didn't speak nor told about the fates of their children out loud unlike the Shotet.
Cyra, who Akos know as the daughter of the leader of Shotet (which now dead, now lead by her bother, Ryzek Noavek) known to be Ryzek's Scourge because of her gift to be able to cause other pain if they touch her, but lots of people don't know about her gift is that she also feel that pain. Akos, who's fated to die in service for Noavek family, has special currentgift that null all the gift, which mean made Cyra didn't feel the pain too. Akos' effort to bring his brother away from Shotet become a challenge because of Ryzek's gift that can trade memories made his brother more and more like Ryzek and lost his true self. And Ryzek's obsession to defy his own fates just become dangerous not only for Eijeh (Akos' brother) but also Shotet people and Thuvhe people.
My Review
As i said before, i was postponed this book quite a while, i suppose by the time, i should have read it last year yet i didn't because i hesitate a lot. To be honest this is the first book of Veronica Roth to me. I know i should have read the famous Divergent series first, but i didn't which is a bummer, since i'm waiting for the perfect edition to have it first, up until now i still haven't read the book but i watch the movie tho. The movie was okay in the first one, but last one isn't that good to me (and plus the part 2 isn't released and got canceled now, i just guess the movie is not as good as the book then).
Okay, enough with my excuses, let's dive with the book! To be honest i was surprised by it! I finished it in two sitting, which is amazing for the book that i hesitate a lot and i end up liking it a lot. The book consist of this currentgift which in simple term is the super power troupe which i love as much as i love elemental powers.
Cyra is such a badass female character, which i really like. She killed a lot of people in order to keep a secret about her mother's death that her brother hold into her to made her do what he asked her to do, but she keep the sight off her marks, which means she didn't proud of what she is and the reason beyond why she has that currentgift just made her more lovable character to me although she's somehow rude to others.
“I may be in pain, but I am not weak.”

Akos in other hand, a loving brother, a smart man, strong willed, that would do anything for his family including killing the one of Shotet soldier who came to took him and his brother. His identity of who he really is is still a mystery, why he is named as Shotet name, how he can understand and speaks Shotet language and what is his mom hiding from.
“Eijeh was in the amphitheater, he was right there. You could have grabbed him. Why didn’t you—”
His mouth—still under my fingers—twitched into a smile. “Because Icame for you, you idiot.”
The loveline is just the type that i like. It should be counted as enemy to lovers, but they didn't hate each other that bad in my opinion. And the type of their love is somehow is slowburn romance for me so i kind of like it.
My Verdict
I gave it Uh-Yeah for this one (read my rating system here if you don't get what it means). Again i was surprised by the end i finish the book of how i like the book. It was a fun read for me, i really like Akos and Cyra's interactions. The value of the story behind it for friendship and family, love it. I really should stop myself to prejudice a book, since i also did that last year for the Forest of thousand lanterns but i also end up loving it.
