“Jealousy was such a human emotion, powerful but senseless ― based on nothing”
― Edward Cullen ―

Hello peeps! Welcome back to "Bring me back!" series where we going back to the glorious time of the author who wrote phenomenal series and now back with another book in addition to that series. So without further ado, let's dive in!

My Current State

So this is the context. Twilight was the first book i read in English. I even made my own verb two dictionary thanks to this book. This series also the most re-read one. I never reread a book normally, but back then i was so broke that i don't have any book to read except this series. I know lots of people hate this series but it's a guilty pleasure book for me. I was so hyped when she announce that she was going to release the midnight sun, which the used to work on back when twilight series such a hit, but the script was leaked so she decided to post it in her official website instead.

I read the script and it ended in the end few chapters progress which is quite a bummer. I remember it stop when Edward finally touch his piano again playing a Bella's lullaby song, when the story just got more interesting if you will. So this is a good news for me when she published this, it's good for my OCD because i need to finish all things that i've started.  I'm pretty sure i remember most part of the book because not only it's the most reread series i also used to sleep with watching the movie as a lulaby (yes i was that trash to this series)

Synopsis

The story is basically twilight but in Edward's point of view. The new girl from Phoenix that moved to Forks to living with her dad while her mom is traveling a lot with her new man. Edward came to became curious about this girl because unlike the other human, he can't read her mind. And of course she has the scent that made him go wild.

He is in the cross road between kill the girl to fulfill his beast's desire that has been inside him since the beginning of his second life, and disappointed his whole family and left them because of it, or to change the girl to be like him, or keep living in forks for the sake of his own family and his own desire in "human" side to be with the girl.

What I Like

I really like the snippet of each other thought that Edward can hear. I never thought that their thought would be so fun to read. It made sense to each character and i felt like we got more explanation about Cullen's family. How they walk among humans, how they use their power in daily use and the most part is the story behind each character that we can't find in Bella's POV.

Bella's POV is based on her, the new girl, we learn as she learn too. While Edward is more like a computer with access to internet, he can tell you the history, he can tell you what other people's thinking too. Which is made us "learn" from him instead of the plot.

We got the story behind his turning, while it's so excruciating, which revered to how Carlisle became a vampire, how his compassion is the power behind his ability to be doctor among human tho he is a vampire. How he never kill human when he turned vampire even when he still a new born. We also get to know the story of Emmet, how he became vampire, which the reason why he likes Grizzy bear a lot. And of course how he met Rosaline, which i don't think it's included in Twilight.

Apart from that i think the most part that i like is the James part. How he thinks, his history, how smart he is while trying to toy with Edward and hunting Bella at the same time. Which lead us to another history that didn't mentioned (pretty sure) in the Twilight which is Alice's life before she became vampire and why. I'm pretty sure it didn't mentioned in Twilight tho.

 What I Don't Really Like

I think the most part that i don't really like is, how creepy Edward turn into. In the Twilight he just a mysterious handsome man with ability to read people's mind. And now he turned into super strong predator who knows his own prey's thoughts.  With knowing how powerful he is here, the story is no longer about vampire who fall in love with his own prey. But about a man with two personalities who definitely want her as a prey, but also want her as his own. He became like super possessive person for me ( i felt it in the whole series, but i felt it more here).

He event stalks her in super early story. I thought it was after she got the accident. Man, it was wayyy earlier and that's kind of creepy. Who want a stalker you only know once in your biology class, didn't really talk to you but stalking you??? that's creepy, you gotta admit it, no matter how handsome he is.

In Conclusion

It's an Uh Yeah ( please go to my rating system for more if you new for my rating system) read for me. I know you might hate me, but what can i do? it's my guilty pleasure read. I really like Carlisle history a lot. Try read it. I read fifty shades of gray's POV called Grey before, i didn't really like how the character turned from mysterious but sad story that made him like that, turn into a man with power but pervert, since he thinks a lot of kinky stuff, which is again sad. This one is kind of different tho. I like it. Again, probably since it's my guilty pleasure read.
