“Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”
― Professor Dumbledore ―

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to the "Bring Me Back!" series where i will review the book from the series that i have been left out for awhile and continuing it, or just like this one, rereading it and compare it with what i know last time with this rereading experience. Without further ado, let's dive in!!

My Current State

So after last time i discuss about the "Interworld by Neil Gaiman and Michael Reeves" in this series i decided to add this Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in this series too because indeed it brings me back to the series that has been beloved by lots of people (before the storm coming by the author and lots of people hate her) but i'm not going to talk about the author's issues we gonna talk about the book!

Goblet of Fire is my first book ever read in my whole life, so it matters a lot to me because it's the turning point of me (or should we call it the start point) as a reader. I remember enjoy reading it for whole day and finished it in like three or four days which is super fast. I really enjoy the book that i think it's the biggest point why i love fantasy books a lot. All i remember about the book is that it's quite different with the movie because in the movie they add the scene with the dragon flying out of the arena (which made me like the movie a lot too!)

All i could remember for sure is the Triwizard Tournament and i love the book a lot. That's all. Turns out i missed a lot when i reread the book now.

Synopsis

Triwizard Tournament will be hold this year with Hogwatrs as the host of this year. Inviting two other school, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang to Hogwarts just create new environment in Hogwarts. The student that can join the tournament must be seventeen years old (last year of school) but somehow Harry Potter's name announced as the fourth member of the champion for this tournament that suppose to be just three champion, one each school. Who's the person who put Harry's name in the goblet of fire and why is the thing that to be discovered in this book

What I Re-Learn

If you watch the movie, you will learn that the movie start with harry went to Quidditch World Cup for the first time, then suddenly the camp got terrorized by the Dark Mark. But the one that you didn't get from the movie is how this person got the wand to make the mark and the wand that used is Harry's wand.  We got the story of Barty Couch Jr in Pensieve in Professor Dumbledore's office. But what didn't explained in the movie is how this man got out from the prison then serve Voldemort and help him to get Harry into the Triwizard game.

Also about the Elf that work happily as slave unlike Dobby. Winky is one of the elf that work in Barty Couch's house, who after what happened in the Quidditch World Cup, she got banished (or set free) but unlike Dobby she was devastated. That also leads to Hermione's Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare where she concern a lot about elf slavery, which of course didn't mentioned in the movie. But with this part we know that the food didn't magically appear in the hall every year, but with house elf helps. Also this part of story also giving more part for Dobby to be around Harry, which if you only watch the movie, you will found missing Dobby after his first appearance in second movie, and he returns again just to be dead in the 7th movie. Which is sad.

Same thing for Sirius, after his first appearance in third book (and movie) he completely gone in goblet of fire in the movie, but in the book actually he's still keep in touch with Harry even visit hogwarts after the Triwizard tournament ends. He even shake hands with Snape! I mean it completely make sense that he, the one that offer Harry to live with him in the prisoner of Azkaban will be still make sense if he still keep in touch with Harry even after he going away from the people who's searching for him, rather than suddenly pop up in the next few movies ahead without really explained what happened to him and why he can go back to his old house.

“If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”
― Sirius Black ―

I remember Rita Skeeter for being an annoying reporter, but i don't realize that she is such a false rumor reporter. And at the end, she also unlisted Animangus just like Sirius. Which is super new to me while reading the book.

And at last we finally got the glimpse of why Colonel Fudge asked Dolores Umbridge the evil woman to intervene with Hogwarts's rules in the next year. He just stupid!! How come you deny that Voldemort is back when you already see Cedric Digory is dead?? Just because of false rumor by Rita Skeeter??? I wonder how this man can be the Head of the Ministry?

In Conclusion

I'm pretty glad that i reread the book, it made total sense to the whole story. To be honest i think i've done binge watch the movie like 3 times in past two years but still got some part of the story that doesn't make sense which if you read the book all make totally sense, so yeah. Still my fave book from the whole series, but this time my rate is just so-so because i'm in slump lol!
