Is It Worth Reading : Camp Half-Blood Confidential by Rick Riordan
May 26, 2021“I’m a free spirit
Adrift in sunshine and song.
Office hours bore me.”
― Haiku by Apollo God of Prophecy ―
After a lot of duologies review, i'm afraid that i might bore you by that (I'm kidding, I'm just doing my OCD thingy by adding a book so i got a complete set of three books for my reading plan so i decided to read this one. Long story.) Rick Riordan always be my go-to-read kind of books if I'm into slump, plus this one is a novella so it's a short read. Anyway, let's dive in!
Reading Order
Now that i'm looking at the reading order in Goodreads, i finally understand why i don't know some of the characters here in the book! How stupid i am! This book is listed as the Trials of Apollo #2.5! Which means it's part of the Apollo series that i've not ready yet! lol!! what am i?? i already listed it in my goodreads before i start reading it and yet i missed the detail that it should be read in between the second and third book of the apollo series!! And here i am calling myself a reader. What a fool!
Anyway... (after trying to recover over that fact, i took a rest for about 30mins before continuing this review) by that, you must know that Apollo series took AFTER Percy Jackson and the Olympian Series and Heroes of Olympus Series. And then, you must read the first and second book of the Trials of Apollo first before reading this one. (GOSH that explain a lot why Apollo took a lot of scene in this book now! i need another minute to recover.)
What is it All About?
I found Nico and Percy talking back to Annabeth is kind of fun read too, but of course we can't let Leo out from this one, his witty comments are always felt welcomed in my heart. Of course yeah i'm team Leo!
Is It Worth Reading?
Since it's suppose to be the novella in between of the Trials of Apollo series, i can't really say it to you is it worth reading in term of the Apollo series, but well i would say i really happy that i finally back to the camp half blood and what happened after that big war. The way the camp changes as the rules added is one of the part that i always want to know every time i finished a book. What happened to this one? and that one? I would say this book answers a lot of my questions, and even told some that i've never think of before.
Groover's part in this book also hillarious. Oh how i missed him. And now that he's not a junior Satyr that has took the big role in the Satyr world and hierarchy (you probably should read the heroes of Olympus series if you dunno what i'm talking about) his non changing character despite of his role now is so comforting in some ways.
My Verdict
I will always do say yes to Rick Riordan books in terms of is it worth reading or not, since every book of him, novellas or whole book itself always a fun read. Like i said i can't say in terms of is it worth reading if in order to understand the Trials of Apollo series since i haven't read that series yet, but please try to read this one for fun.
