Choose The Year Booktag

December 09, 2020

Hello everyone! As the last month of the year coming, i feel it's more appropriate to bring this book tag to you. I got the idea by reading and scrolling through literallyelephant blog  and i think why not?

So this is how it goes, go to goodreads http://www.goodreads.com/book/popular_by_date/xxxx and just choose the year and it will show you the top 200 famous book released in that year. Well, without further ado, let's dive in!

1. Choose a year and why

I choose 2014, since it's the year where i came back to reading again, and start collecting physical books. I think that's the time where i'm back to become a reader after years of hiatus

If you curious about for my list, you can go by clicking here

2. Which books published in that year have you read, or if none, heard of.

I got to say i'm pretty proud of myself that i've read 13 books from the list. Although it doesn't even count as 10% of the list yet, but the number surprises me. Here are the list and the rating i gave for each of them. Please note that i might have rate it differently if you asked me now.

Yep, you can see how my reading taste like by the list already. Well.. like you don't know it already by the list of books i've reviewed recently. Also, there are some books that actually i already read tho but didn't include in this list because it's part of another book.

These three above are included in another book that released later in 2015 called as Happily Ever After. I don't know why the author released a lot of novellas separately then publish again in collections of all of them. Is it marketing strategy maybe? Anyway, can i count it 16 books then that i've read?

3. Are there any books published in that year that sound interesting and would you read them now?

I got some already that i want to read, mostly in my TBR right now, i will categorized it four different category, the one that i already have it in my shelf (physically, or in e-book), the one in my maybe list, the one that i used to want to read but i've outgrown them

4. Most obscure sounding book?

This is a hard word for me since English is not my first language, i googled it and i take it as the most unknown, or the one i've never seen before (If i'm wrong please bear with me). There are a lot, but since it says "the most" i would pick one that i think also sound fun to read

5. Strangest book cover

I hope i don't bore you by saying that i do judge book yg it's cover. A book with just words in the cover? absolutely okay, books with amazing font and abstract art? definitely my type, but book with people in it? i would denitely avoid it, with the whole face in the cover? absolutely no.

This one is the strangest one i found in the list, or we can call it the one that i won't like at all. By its cover i already know that this one must be a thriller, mystery kind of book. That probably one of the biggest reason why i don't read mystery books, because of the cover.

Well that's a wrap up! I hope this book tag is fun for you to read as much as so much effort i did to edit the picture (believe me, it wasn't that hard, i'm using the paint app lol) anyway i did have fun making it tho. Hopefully i will do more exciting book tag in the future. We'll see!
