Books With Illness (Mental of Physical) You Should Read
August 12, 2020Hello everyone! Today i finally bring you the genre that i tried to read a lot last year although not that a lot, as you might know i usually read fantasy books a lot of time but this time i'll recommend you a book with illness (mental and physical) for you to readMental health is usually the last place people go when they think about someone being sick.
Under Rose — Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall —
You probably that know one of the book that famous with this category is The Fault in Our stars by John Green which is the first book i read from him and that made me start reading all his works because that book was so good. But this time it's not gonna be on the list because i think everyone already know that one. Please read it tho, it's a good one just in case you haven't read it.
So now i'm going to give you the list of books that i've read that worth to read for you. As always i'll do it by the order i read it first not by the rank of my liking (well all i recommended are my liking tho)
1. Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
She got a doctor mom who also her personal doctor, also got personal nurse along with that, she got a dope home with super sterilize room in front so if someone from outdoor (like her mom or her personal nurse). Mostly wear white for clothes because.. idk it feels clean?
Then of course she met a boy that just move next door and the love happen of course. What i like about this one is the main character tho got a disease she's not dragging the mood for the reader down like feeling sappy or everything which is i think i love it the best from her character.
This book also has been adapted to the movie, i like the movie but a bit disappointed with the male main character (tho i like him okay, but in my imagination he's kind of different, physically) well i guess it's the hard part of read the book first then watch the movie, but overall the movie is good.
2. Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gorngall
I really like her and her mom interactions so much, again this probably similar yet different with everything everything for me. I find her fear about kissing is amusing because she really think about how many bacteria in your mouth and got scared a lot by it.
She also struggle to believe Luke (her crush) to accept her for who she is, questioning whether is it better to let Luke with someone normal unlike her.
Also a warning, this book also include self harm, but not that explicit just a bit, so if you feel uncomfortable with it, i warned you already but believe me it's not that much. Only a bit of it.
3. All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
The book start with Violet who was almost jump from a bell tower but got saved by Flinch (not that hero saving princess type of thing, just talk). Flinch who is famous for being a trouble maker, fascinated a lot by death, which is absolutely trouble in the radar. Violet suffering for the lost of her older sister by car accident with her, in front of her eyes, yet she survived.
This book follows Flinch and Violet's adventure to do assignment for "Natural Wonders" going here and there. Flinch basically push her to be his partner, and help her to overcome her fear to ride a car because the accident that took her sister life.
I love Flinch character a lot, i think he is charming in his own way. This book also been adapted to movie, great cast, but as always, the perks of read the book first then watch the movie you always find some disappointment in it, but i think i don't hate the movie.
So that's all for today, tell me your fave even the one that isn't in my list.
Just in case you miss it
